Funded from fishing licence sales, the Get Fishing Fund is supporting organisations delivering fishing activities during 2023. Open to angling clubs, fisheries, local authorities, charities and schools, applicants can apply to help purchase fishing equipment, fishing tackle and resources to deliver fishing activities and events.
Delivered in partnership with The Angling Trust and the Environment Agency, grants of up to £2,500 are available to support angling related projects. Graham Mabey, Regional Angling Development Officer (South) at the Angling Trust said: "The Get Fishing Fund gives organisations the opportunity to purchase their own equipment and establish their own sustainable fishing projects which will allow a new generation into Angling. As the Angling Development Officer for the South East, I know how helpful this type of funding can be and I’m thrilled to see the Environment Agency releasing another round of funding. I would like to thank Fishing for Schools for sharing this information to their substantial School network for the benefit of the wider community."
