Well done to our fantastic London Marathon 2021 team

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

Well done to our fantastic marathon team who ran an epic London Marathon on Sunday.

All four of our Countryside Alliance Foundation (TCAF) team runners completed the marathon in under 4 hours and 40 minutes – a huge achievement - all in aid of our work at Fishing for Schools.

Katie Weeks ran the course in under four hours and shares her experience of the day:

"The London Marathon was one of the most overwhelming experiences I have ever encountered. It was incredible from start to finish and the roaring crowds made you forget about your cramping muscles and weeping blisters! Running alongside some of the most inspirational people makes it something I will never ever forget. I would do it again 10 times over and to be running it for Fishing for Schools made it all that little bit more special!"

Oliver Tillard who ran in aid of Fishing for Schools said:

“An awesome and tough event but running for Fishing for Schools was great motivation.”

Nick Lythgoe said:

“I would like to thank the Countryside Alliance Foundation for giving me the chance to run this year’s London Marathon and hope that my contribution will help more children develop through the Fishing For Schools program."

Tayla Harding said:

" You can do all of the training, physical and mental preparation you can think of before marathon day, but there is nothing that can prepare you for the most incredible atmosphere that comes whilst you are pounding the streets of London! Thank you to all of those that have supported me during my training and on race day, it has been truly incredible to be a part of the London Marathon and an achievement and experience I will forever be grateful and proud of".
