Thamesview School excel at their first Fishing session of the year

On Monday, the Fishing for Schools, Kent team were at Shorne Country Park with Thamesview School, Gravesend, for their first Fishing session this year.

The weather forecast never let us down, it said that it would be rain for most of the day and they were certainly right.

Shorne Country Park is a great venue to take young people that have never fished before as it is full of Silver fish, and you get some nice Crucians, Tench as well as Carp. Today was about teaching the basics of Fishing, Plumbing up, Casting, Handling fish, and using the disgorger.

No rods or reels to start with, Just a good old Whip and fish a plenty.

Hats off to the coaches and teaching staff today, for their dedication in appalling weather to ensure that the students had a great day.

Thank you to the Kent Community Foundation, for supporting our work with Thamesview School. Thanks also to the T.W.A.P.S Fishing Club, for the use of the lake at Shorne.
