Schools out… Summer update from Kent

Whilst the summer holiday offers a break for some, our Kent-based coaching team have shifted their focus to delivering fishing sessions to local community groups, providing fishing sessions to adults with learning difficulties and defined mental health needs, offering an introduction to the health and wellbeing benefits of the sport.

This week Fishing for schools Coach, Warren White, and the team are partnering with social care charity, Choice Support and are supporting the Trevor Gibbens Unit (TGU) in Maidstone. Sessions will run throughout the summer.

Warren ran a fabulous art competition during last year’s summer sessions which proved popular, and as a result, the competition will run again this year. Fishing for Schools Director, Charles Jardine, is honoured to judge the competition, which will take place on the 16th of August. We look forward to announcing the winners in due course.

We are indebted to local funder, the Cobtree Charity Trust for supporting our work with Choice Support and TGU. Special thanks to The Tackle Box, who supply tackle for schools and mental health groups.
