Over the last two years Fishing for Schools has participated in Giving Tuesday, a global fundraising day encouraging friends and supporters to support our work with young people. We would love your school to get involved in this year’s event, to help us raise funds and spread the word about Fishing for Schools.
Why we need to raise funds
Whilst we are able to offer Fishing for Schools free of charge to schools, we must raise the funds to support our delivery costs – coaches, fishery costs, kit and equipment.
Covid impacted our fundraising this year and we had to make tough choices on which schools we could support during 2021. Many young people missed out on the opportunity to take part.
How you can help – Giving Tuesday 2021 – Tuesday 30 November
Last year we raised £5,000 in aid of Fishing for Schools and have a £8,000 target this year.
Please encourage students, school staff and our supporters to get involved in raising vital funds for Fishing for Schools.
It’s not just about raising huge amount of funds – by playing your part on Giving Tuesday you will help raise awareness of our work and we can talk about how Fishing for Schools made a difference at your school.
Need some inspiration? Here are some suggestions for how you can raise funds on a bigger scale:
Bake sale/coffee morning - fish shaped biscuits etc, go for a fish theme!
Litter picking - help your local community while raising money
Fishing inspired competition– e.g. casting competition
Non uniform day
Penalty shoot-out challenge
Host a school quiz night
Loose change collection
Outdoor treasure hunt
If Tuesday 30th November doesn’t work for you, please feel free to participate before or after the big day. Just let us know and take some photos and we can share it on our social media channels.
Please could you let us know your plans so that we can support your efforts. We can share your fundraising stories on social, to encourage our supporters to also get involved and make a gift. Please email email@example.com.
