Reeling in success: Fishing for Schools Director conquers 13.1-mile run, catches his fish and sips some of the south's finest, raising vital funds for Fishing for Schools

On the hottest day of the year to date, Fishing for Schools Director Charles Jardine accomplished the equivalent of a half marathon around Bewl Reservoir’s high Weald course on Sunday 12 May, raising funds to support the delivery of Fishing for Schools sessions in Kent.

Every donation made to the event will help us to partner with schools and community groups, to broaden our impact, and will enable us to introduce fishing and its educational, health, and wellbeing benefits to a wider audience.

Galvanised by the support of our Kent coaching team and beneficiaries, Charles ran the course in three and a half hours.

Charles said of the event:

“The element that concerned me the most was catching that fish to start with…. The conditions were brutal. But I did and managed the undulating course all in three ad half hours. I have to say my support team were the best and made it all fun!”
