Richard Jamieson is an instructor for Fishing for Schools in the Yorkshire and Peak District regions. Watch Richard teach the tricks to fly fishing, assembling a rod and safety tips with his grandson Logan.
Richard said: "One of the reasons I became involved with Fishing for Schools was the look of amazement on my grandson Logan’s face when he caught his first fish, a perch at a local commercial fishery on a red maggot (if I recall correctly).
He’s taken a more recent interest in fly fishing, at the grand old age of 6, as it appeals to his more active nature. Children should be encouraged in any outdoor pursuit in my opinion. It teaches them responsibility, courtesy and an appreciation of the wider world and this is where Fishing For Schools is so very fit for purpose."
