Shorne Country Park was the perfect venue for the first Fishing for Schools session of the Autumn term with pupils from Meadowfield School in Sittingbourne.
Fishing for Schools coach David Evans tells us:
"We had beautiful weather and the day ran smoothly. The fishing was harder than usual but all pupils managed to catch several fish each during the day. There were mixed species caught: roach, rudd, perch, tench and crucian carp. All students learnt new skills, are looking forward to the next session."
Thank you to the team from Meadowfield School who encouraged their pupils and were very interested in the fishing and outdoor environment.
Meadowfield will be visiting Grove Fishery for the next session, where pupils will be able to practice their skills on whip fishing and an opportunity to try other methods.
Funding is vital to enable us to deliver Fishing for Schools. Huge thanks to the Cobtree Charity Trust for supporting our work with Meadowfield School.
