Fishing for Schools on the BBC

Promoting Fishing for Schools Director’s heroic fundraising efforts and a £12,000 fundraising target in aid of Fishing for Schools, BBC South East spent the day at Bewl Reservoir with Charles and the young people at Orchard School, Kent.

Bewl Water is the venue for the inaugural  ‘Flyathlon’, taking place on Sunday, 12 May.  The fly fishing version of a triathlon will raise vital funds for Fishing for Schools.

The challenge will see Charles first catch a fish, then run a half marathon around Kent and Sussex’s Bewl reservoir, and, finally, celebrate by drinking sparkling wine – all while fundraising for Fishing for Schools.

We are incredibly proud of the young people of Orchard School, who spoke of their enthusiasm for Fishing for Schols and explained why their weekly sessions are an important part of the school curriculum.

God luck to Charles!  You can support his fundraising efforts here
