Kent County Council’s Reconnect programme this year invited public nominations for its Community Awards, to recognise the extraordinary work of individuals and organisations across Kent. The awards thanked and celebrated the inspirational people who helped children and young people reconnect to the things they missed during the pandemic.
Fishing for Schools was nominated for their work supporting young people to gain confidence and independence with their fishing and educational experience.
All of us are incredibly proud to have received the nomination, which is a ringing endorsement for what we try to do for young people.
Reconnect went on to say:
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the hard work, time given and support you have provided for young people. You should be immensely proud of what you have contributed and the difference you have made to the children and young people of Kent.”
Fishing for Schools Director said of the nomination:
“This endorsement means the world to all of us at Fishing for School, and especially the dedication and hard work afforded by the Kent team to help the young people in Kent, offering both an opportunity for a sport for life and also helping with their education. We have the best team in the business.”
