Fishing for Schools Coaches Richard and Phillipa Winser have had a busy month to date delivering to schools in Norfolk. Congratulations to the students at Brooklands School for gaining their Angling Skills Activity Award - Silver Foundation Level. Excellent work!
Richard said “There is one further session left, next time at Marsh View Fishery and the target has been set… this time we are going for GOLD!”
The group have learnt a wealth of new skills, from the countryside code, selecting a place to fish, rod and pole assembly, setting the depth of a float, hooking bait, safe fish handling and hygiene whilst fishing; all key skills to fish with confidence on completion of the course.
The students learnt to work independently, in pairs and as a team; they showed fantastic concentration, patience and resilience during the fishing sessions and caught an impressive number of fish.
We would like to thank John and Nancy at Hall Farm Fishery, Burgh Castle, which has proved to be a fantastic venue and Gorelston Tackle Centre for their support.
