Something that has always been close to my heart is the work we do we with our mental health and disability groups.
Tomorrow, Fishing for Schools start its first Mental Health Fishing event with Charlton Athletic Community Trust, since all the Covid lockdowns; it will be great to catch up with them again.
I first started working with Charlton 13 years ago, when myself and Fishing for Schools Coach, Charlie Rayner, looked into working with some local groups. It was the best thing I ever did.
Fishing can be great therapy for anyone. The enjoyment of being in the outdoor environment is good for your mental health, and benefits can include reduced stress, increased concentration, and overall improvement of self- esteem.
