Some great news from Fishing for Schools coach, Warren White.
"Last night I completed the Cast Award L2 Course with Jordi O’Connor. By completing his L2 Cast he can now claim the Scouts Anglers badge, a rare badge to get in the scouting world."
"Jordi is an ultra intelligent lad, who at present is taking the 2 year BTEC Fisheries course. After he leaves school he wants to go onto higher education at Hadlow College to do Animal Management. Jordi’s ambition is to work with aquatic mammals as a Zoo Keeper, he has already been to a local Zoo for work experience and with his determination I think he will get there."
"Jordi’s parents say that I get the best out of him, but as I explained to them it goes back a bit further than this. Fishing for Schools fund the first Fishing course at the school, where the students get there interest and achieve the Cast Award L1, Their school then fund the 2 year BTEC course (accredited course) then with our strong link to the Hadlow college, after leaving school, students then have the opportunity to go onto the college to do an array of different courses. Education comes full circle."
