Charles Jardine takes up the marathon baton… again…

“Well, imagine my surprise, when on last Friday morning a large envelope tumbled from the letterbox on to my kitchen floor from the Virgin London Marathon team, proudly announcing, that I had, not only a race number for the Virtual event but just an entire week to prepare for 26.2 miles.

Not once I have ever shrunk from a challenge: and I am jolly well not doing so now….

So here we go again.

Then I thought (always dangerous) lets select a marathon and join that ….. so I agreed to do the Clarendon Marathon. More than 90% is off road, with the trail following country tracks and paths - many of which have not changed since being travelled by the ancient Kings and Queens of England.”

Whilst Charles is a marathon pro, we need your help in reaching his ambitious £5,000 target

Your support will make a difference:

Providing vital funds in aid of our newly launched Castaway programme, introducing fishing alongside the well-being benefits of being outdoors, aimed at both men and women affected by all types of cancer.

Helping us deliver Fishing for Schools to young people in greatest need, reaching hundreds of young people each year through our schools programme.

Any support would be greatly appreciated and you can sponsor Charles here. Wishing the best of luck to Charles, and also to our wonderful team running Sunday’s London marathon.
