Calling all anglers: Three-fly cast charity fishing tournament in aid of Fishing for Schools



On Saturday 1 October, Summerfield’s Trout Fishery will open its doors to a wider audience in the name of raising money to support The Countryside Alliance Foundation’s Fishing for Schools Programme.


The tournament that has been devised to test your skills. You will be confined to use just three flies (one at a time), these will be provided on the day: Daddy Longlegs (3 points per fish). Dawl Bach (2 points per fish). Hares Ear Nymph (1 point per fish).


Competitors will be rotated between 30 pegs, covering the circumference of the 3-acre lake, score sheets will be endorsed after each catch and time bonuses may apply.


Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.


All competition proceeds, including raffle takings will be donated to the charity, which has already engaged with five regional schools this academic year and has a further two in the pipeline.

Entry: £35 (which includes lunch and three flies).


The competition is limited to 25 entries, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. All entries must be made in advance, no entries will be accepted on the day.
